Genie Pro™ 2.0 is a standalone application that can be used to search geospatial imagery, classify remotely sensed data and discover hard to find features within complex geospatial scenes. The software uses techniques from statistical machine learning theory and evolutionary computation theory – also known as genetic programming – to perform robust and customized automated feature extraction (AFE) in multispectral, hyperspectral, panchromatic, and multi-instrument fused imagery.
Genie Pro™ represents a significant technological advance over standard image classification algorithms in popular GIS and image processing packages. Genie Pro™ is able to distinguish between similar features that share similar spectral characteristics - for example, asphalt roads vs. asphalt roofs - by considering the combined spatial and spectral context of each pixel, which enables it to produce accurate map overlays for tasks that would defeat traditional spectral-only classification algorithms. These capabilities are particularly effective with today’s high-resolution airborne and satellite imagery. Unlike other tools on the marketplace Genie Pro™ has an easy-to-use interface that allows even the most novice user to learn to extract productive information with minimal training, while also offering the advanced imagery scientist the ability to manipulate a variety of processing options.
